AI Thread Summary
Users are experiencing an issue with the "newest post" triangle in Opera 10.52, where clicking it does not lead to the latest post but consistently redirects to the same post instead. This problem occurs intermittently, notably in the "HB Evo thread," where the link always directs to a specific post rather than the newest content. The issue may be related to recent posts made by the user in certain threads. The slow evening activity on forums is hindering further investigation into the problem. Overall, the upgrade to Opera 10.52 might be a contributing factor to this navigation issue.

I have upgraded to Opera 10.52 today, so it can be a source of the problem, but who knows.

When I click on the "newest post" triangle (left to the thread topic on the subforum view) I am not taken to the newest post, but every time to the same post. It doesn't happen in all threads, but for example in "HB Evo thread" triangle always links to https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=399702 and I am always redirected to https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?p=2696256#post2696256 .

Could be that happens in the threads I have posted in today. Unfortunately, evening seems to be slow on forums so I can't check details.

I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
