Homework Statement

V(x) = -V ( if x > 0 )
0 ( if x <= 0)
( V is positive constant)

the transmission coefficient is not simply F2 / A2 ( with A the incident amplitude and F the transmitted amplitude ), because the transmitted wave travels at a different speed.

Calculate transmission coefficient.

Q. I know transmission coefficient is probability of transmission. then I wonder why transmission coefficient has relevance to velocity??

Hello again! Please use the template, don't erase it. That's a no-no in PF !

Under 2. you could write a few wave functions for a free particle in the two regions and then in 3. look at the boundary conditions at x = 0.

Or google...
