I could have a relative in this photo. My family homesteaded much of this area.

They or some of their descendants probably rode the Deadwood Central Railroad (bottom of the postcard below) which ran between Deadwood and Lead.Ivan Seeking said:Deadwood, South Dakota, 1877

I tried emu once. The first few bites tasted okay but it quickly became unappealing. The more I ate the less I liked it.Andy Resnick said:New Years Eve at Cleveland's West Side Market:

Haha, yes, I had forgotten I posted those. I was just randomly grabbing a few favorite photos. It really is a kick and the women love it. Every time I go I think about getting serious about it and training to do the crazy stuff. But it is a bit of a drive so I end up not doing it. I have done it enough that I have good control but haven't tried shooting up 40 feet yet! I'm afraid if I go up that high I might be afraid to come down. LOL! The pros shoot up and then hang from the top. It makes me nervous just watching them do that. Plus, you quickly notice that all the pros are extremely thin. I wonder if a heavier person can do as much. I'm not sure they have the fan speed for that.pinball1970 said:Thought I recognised it, you posted that 27.1.23. A few years ago I repeated a date I had when I was 16 - my first real date almost 50 years ago. We went and saw a LASER show done to Pink Floyd. My current date was much younger than me but she was totally into Floyd. Who would have thought that in the 2020s, young people would be playing Pink Floyd on vinyl and in LASER shows? And it was still a great date!

Not Orson Wells... and he's not the only one that should be familiar.WWGD said:He looks familiar. Orson Wells, maybe?

And DAMN! I didn't even know this was coming. I just happened to be watching live when I saw the most amazing thing. I just sat here half stunned. I could hardly believe what I just saw.

I see Desi Arnaz, Bob Hope, James Cagney and Cary Grant (among others that I recognize but can't name offhand). You'd think a group like this could afford to hire some limos rather than having to crowd into a single bus!Ivan Seeking said:Not Orson Wells... and he's not the only one that should be familiar.

Our 'Old Year' hike.
There was some nice fog and frost at higher elevation:
The meadows had their own charm:
...and at the end of the hike, already at dusk there was this frozen lake, with kids playing:
The midnight/new year usually with lots of fireworks and noise, so we just locked in the cats and went to sleep early.
