Right Hand Side Orthogonal Drawing

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on creating a Right Hand Side (RHS) orthogonal drawing of an object using AutoCAD. The user expresses difficulty in visualizing the RHS view despite being familiar with the software. Key insights include the importance of understanding projection techniques, specifically how to interpret isometric views to create accurate orthogonal representations. The conversation highlights the need for clarity in visualizing dimensions and features, such as the square hole in the cylinder, when drafting the RHS view.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of orthogonal drawing techniques
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD software
  • Knowledge of isometric projection principles
  • Basic skills in interpreting technical drawings
NEXT STEPS
  • Research techniques for creating orthogonal projections in AutoCAD
  • Study the principles of isometric drawing and its application in technical design
  • Explore tutorials on visualizing 3D objects from different perspectives
  • Learn about dimensioning and detailing in technical drawings
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for students in engineering or design fields, AutoCAD users seeking to improve their drafting skills, and anyone involved in creating technical drawings that require accurate projections and visualizations.

Homework Statement

I need to draw an orthogonal RHS of an object I have attached as a pdf file with the message for an assignment. My problem is I do not know what the RHS of the drawing would look like. I know how to use autocad to do drawings but I'm stuck when I need to envisage the drawing. Can anybody please help? I'm completely stuck

Would the RHS view just be looking at it from the projection in the upper right of the isometric view? It looks like you are given the dimensions that you need to place the projection on the cylinder, and also see the square hole in the cylinder...

What does a vertical cylinder look like when viewed from the side?

This is what I have come up with, the drawing on the bottom right is the RHS drawing, does it look right?
