SUMMARY

The discussion revolves around solving the equation -10z + (z-1)21.875 - [(z-1)5*((2-1)/2)] = 0. Participants identify the equation as potentially linear rather than quadratic, with one user suggesting that the solution for z is approximately 2.094. The importance of showing work to clarify the solving process is emphasized, indicating that the approach taken may be flawed.

how do i find z in this problem

-10z+(z-1)21.875-[(z-1)5*((2-1)/2)]=0

i get a quadratic equation but can't seem to get the right answer

z=2.094

Eh? Looks like a linear equation to me.

Anyways, we can't see what you're doing wrong if you don't show your work...
