The discussion emphasizes that direct answers are not provided in the forum; instead, users are encouraged to engage in a tutoring approach. Participants must present relevant equations and their attempts at solving the problem to receive effective assistance. The importance of using the Homework Help Template is highlighted, as it ensures structured support. Deleting the template when posting limits the quality of help available. Future inquiries should adhere to these guidelines for optimal assistance.

No. We do not give answers here on the PF. We can act as tutors if you show us the relevant equations and show us your work on the problem. That is why we have the Homework Help Template that you deleted when you posted this thread. In the future, please use the Template to be sure that you will get the best quality help from us.

Now, show us the relevant equations and your attempt at a solution.

Thread 'Correct statement about size of wire to produce larger extension'
The answer is (B) but I don't really understand why. Based on formula of Young Modulus: $$x=\frac{FL}{AE}$$ The second wire made of the same material so it means they have same Young Modulus. Larger extension means larger value of ##x## so to get larger value of ##x## we can increase ##F## and ##L## and decrease ##A## I am not sure whether there is change in ##F## for first and second wire so I will just assume ##F## does not change. It leaves (B) and (C) as possible options so why is (C)...
