SUMMARY

The discussion centers on a user who constructed a Spark Gap Tesla Coil (SGTC) but is experiencing issues with it not producing sparks. The user utilized a Microwave Oven Transformer (MOT) and a microwave oven capacitor in the high voltage circuit but reported no success despite following various schematics and tutorials. The user has limited experience with high voltage circuits and seeks assistance to troubleshoot and learn more about the construction and operation of SGTCs.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of high voltage circuit components, specifically Microwave Oven Transformers (MOT).
  • Familiarity with capacitors, particularly microwave oven capacitors, and their roles in high voltage applications.
  • Basic knowledge of Spark Gap Tesla Coil design and operation.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and tutorials.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research troubleshooting techniques for Spark Gap Tesla Coils.
  • Learn about safety protocols when working with high voltage circuits.
  • Explore different designs and configurations for Spark Gap Tesla Coils.
  • Investigate the role of resonant frequency in Tesla Coil performance.
USEFUL FOR

Electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists building Tesla Coils, and individuals interested in high voltage circuit design and troubleshooting.

TL;DR
SGTC issues
I made a SGTC few minutes ago and it is just not making any sparks.I used a MOT and the microwave oven capacitor as main HV circuit.I also made some types of SG but that doesn't work either, tried many schematics and tutorials from YouTube but no sign of working. Please help me!

Welcome to PF.

Show us what you have done so far. Also, what experience do you have so far in working with high voltage circuits?

I disassembled the circuit sadly...My experience in HV circuits are not good so far but I know things about high voltages.I don't have experience in these types of circuits and I want to learn.
