I have the oppurtunity to take a class called continuum mechanics. Has anyone here taken the subject?, did you find it interesting and most importantly useful in your work?

It sounds pretty fun, but I don't know if it is that useful for later. So could you be so kind as to tell me how it has helped you?, or if it was a waste?

The use of tensor calculus to explain & explore the governing equations of physics & mechanics is a very useful concept.

In my view, this is the backbone of Continuum Mechanics.

From an engineering standpoint, the title seems a bit too broad. I'd be interested to see a syllabus to see how detailed the class gets. It could be a really good class. From the name though, it's tough to tell.
