Understanding Frequency Response & Gpath

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the frequency response of capacitors in a series RC circuit, specifically addressing the behavior of reactance as frequency increases. Participants clarify that as frequency rises, the reactance of a capacitor decreases, leading to a reduction in voltage across the capacitor. There is also confusion regarding the labeling of VR and VC in the Gpath graph, which may misrepresent the relationship between frequency and voltage in the circuit.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of series RC circuits
  • Knowledge of capacitor reactance
  • Familiarity with frequency response concepts
  • Basic circuit analysis skills
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the behavior of capacitors in series RC circuits
  • Learn about frequency response and its implications in circuit design
  • Investigate the correct labeling of voltage across components in circuit diagrams
  • Explore the mathematical relationships governing reactance and frequency
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineering students, circuit designers, and anyone interested in understanding the frequency response of capacitors in electronic circuits.

i can't understand how they got the praph of the capacitator

i clearly see that as the frequency goes up so does omega so the denominator goes up
and the whole expression decrisses

why does the gpath goes up as the frquency goes up

It looks like they have got the VR and VC labels wrong.

The reactance of a capacitor drops with rising frequency, so the voltage across the capacitor would drop too, in a series RC circuit.
