SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on understanding Thevenin's Theorem specifically for circuits containing dependent sources. Participants express difficulty in calculating Thevenin equivalent impedance (Zth) when only dependent sources are present. The conversation highlights the necessity of identifying the controlling variables in dependent sources to accurately determine Zth. An example circuit is requested to clarify the application of Thevenin's Theorem in such scenarios.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Thevenin's Theorem
  • Knowledge of circuit analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with dependent sources in electrical circuits
  • Ability to calculate equivalent resistance in circuits
NEXT STEPS
  • Study examples of Thevenin's Theorem applied to circuits with dependent sources
  • Learn how to identify controlling variables in dependent sources
  • Practice calculating Zth in various circuit configurations
  • Explore simulation tools like LTspice for circuit analysis
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineering students, circuit designers, and anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Thevenin's Theorem in the context of dependent sources.

Hello all,
May you please help me out in understanding how to deal with circuits with dependent sources.

* I don't have problem in calculating Vth in any circuit but Zth confuses me.
* What to do with circuits with only dependent sources ?
