Vetting Your Ideas: How to Determine if Your Scientific Concept is Viable

To be honest I simply wanted to ask someone who knew more than me about an idea I thought up. But since it got deleted...

How does one go about simply vetting an idea to see if it's complete jibberish or not? Nobody I know irl would have a clue as to what I'm talking about.
