What are the Applications of Magnetic Field Theory in Electric Drives?

I am an electrical engineer working in Higher Education. I am interested in physics, but mainly in magnetic field theory with application to electric drives. I am using ANSYS, MAXWELL and SIMPLORER and Matlab with Simulink software.
