What are the diverse career paths of a physicist?

I'd also like to introduce myself. Considering my age, I execpect all questions of life, the Universe and everything to be answered within this year ;-). Otherwise I'm from Germany, studied physics quite some time ago, did my Master's in (computational) statistical mechanics and my PhD in theoretical astrophysics (computational star formation). Left academia after that, working as a software engineer in industry for a couple of years. Changed gears again some years ago, and since then I'm a math teacher in an upper secondary education school.
