What are the most exciting applications of physics?

I would like to greet everybody here and thank you for the fantastic forum! I've been using it many times in the past but now I want to contribute!

I'm a undergraduate student (not for long I hope!) at the University of Trento.

What is your favorite topic in physics?

I really don't know! I think I do not have a favorite topic. I like a lot Quantum Mechanics and Electromagnetism as theories, but I like many applications of physics to abstract and concrete problems. I dislike when there is too much math to obfuscate the physics, so I do not like mathematical physics much.

And I still have to learn many topics and fields!
