What are you wishing to be in your stocking this xmas ? i have very little chance
of getting what i really want for my first choise, or even my second or third:cry:
so i will be happy with whatever if any thing i get
I was going to send all the pf girls (ladies) chocolates, but it is difficult without an address that maybe a good thing though, i guess that most look after their figures and a new year diet is no fun.

Physics news on Phys.org
I'll be going home, with my immediate family, to spend Christmas with our larger families and our old friends- yay! First time in years!
That is a very wonderful, big (and expensive) Chrissie pressie in itself. I hope we all get on well together!

I have come to hate christmas now. It is WAY too comericalized. Seeing christmas decorations and advertisements up during Halloween makes me sick. A lot of people don't even believe in God or even go to church but still celebrate Christmas. The only thing I like about Christmas is getting time off work. This year I will tell my parents to donate all my presents to the poor. I don't need more worthless stuff that I will get bored of in 1 month. I'll probably just work in a soup kitchen on Christmas day or something. I'd rather not get any gifts so I don't have to buy any gifts for anyone else.

I will be ignoring christmas entirely until December 1st.

here, here! Me too! I hate this crap in the states- christmas stuff out before halloween... what the hell? Too much money surrounds the christmas season. But I like hanging out with my family, so a reason to get everyone together (four generations worth!), see the little kids tear through their presents, have a drink with my grandparents is pretty great in my opinion.

We also have a great tradition on one side of my family of the adults getting each other gag gifts. Cheap, usually hand made, gifts that typically embarass or make fun of you in some way. Things that relate to funny childhood stories are the favorites. It is a great tradition.

As far as what I want for christmas... I have no clue. And my mother is pestering me for ideas. I was hoping people on here had some cool ideas that I could steal. None yet.

I am not sure what I will be doing, but this semester will be over with by then, which is enough of a christmas present for me.

woohoo! I'll join you. (that is, if I actually expected anything from my parents - but it's the thought that counts) Now, I wonder where the soup kitchen in Nanaimo is...

All very true  I only get xmas day off anyway but i am still a big
kid that likes a present or two, any lady want to give wollie a pressey ?

I love Christmas. I love getting presents, I love giving presents. I love Santa Claus. I love Christmas trees and Christmas lights. I love Christmas carols and Christmas Cards. I love the Christmas shows on TV. So what if it is commercialized, here's your chance to lose that cynical attitude and just enjoy the holidays.

I like hand made simple gifts for myself. Oh, and Christmas snow! Mountians of it! But that's kind of hard to put in a stocking.

I do love christmas once it has arrived, but its the build up that annoys me. I don't want to be seeing christmas trees in October/November! Its just so much less special when it spans three months of the year.

Christmas Cheer depends on how I feel that year! This year I am in the "mood". Last year I wasn't. Anyway, I can't wait to get my tree up...I usually wait until Thanksgiving to do it. My Christmas present will be "to be able to pay for the presents my kids get"! LOL. If I don't get another chance, I'd like to say to all of you, "I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"! LOL!

A case for my laptop since there were none when I bought my laptop a few months back. A bunch of CD's I listed, a few movies, a book shelf, and a few books. Asking for books has got to place you among the boring few.:-p

I heard on NPR that the new "in thing" for Christmas is hanging your Christmas tree upside down. Apparently some stores did it to better display the ornaments they had for sale and still have room underneath the tree for some other floor display, and idiots...I mean customers...saw this and decided it was the hot new style they need to follow.   If I catch any of you with an upside-down Christmas tree, I'm...um...uh...um...I'll...well, I'll figure it out when I'm done laughing.

I hang my tree upside down, hang a pentagram from the tip and celebrate the birth of the antichrist. Merry antichristmas.

There is a house near me that does it every year! I alway make a point of passing by and laughing at it.
