Hello, I'm Dan Engel, new to the forums. I am not a physicist; I'm an engineer (Rose Hulman), but I have a chronic itch to more deeply understand those things I gave up when deciding to take the engineer path, rather than the scientist path.

I'm sure any questions posted by me will be, by that account, very "back to basics" for most of you; I ask for patience.
