I am, quite obviously, a new member to this seemingly awesome community. About me: I am in my third year in physics and math. My plan for the next 10 years is to become a research medical physicist/professor at a place with less "sunshine" than Arizona. I am hoping to learn from everyone and make great connections.
One interesting thing: I skipped a semester of physics and take courses in economics, psychology, women and lgbt study, bio-chemistry and philosophy before finalizing on math and physics. I love these subjects not because I thrive well there, but because the more I know, the less I know.

I found this forum cause I was searching on Google if it's common for physics student to feel like they're in the wrong major in the first semester cause it feels like too much for me to learn the materials even the ones that are considered as "basic math" or "basic physics", I've initial fascination with the universe's mysteries and it disconnect with the reality of intense, foundational mathematics courses required...
