What is a mechanism in chemistry and how do I draw it?

Sorry i am doing this summer research program and I have only taken Chem honors and we did not learn how to dram a mechanism or what a mechanism even is!

Since this is for schoolwork, you should post your question in the Homework Help, Chemistry forum. Please fill out the HH Template you are provided there, and show as much of your work and research as possible. You should be able to find the basics for your question with a web search using Google, etc., and check wikipedia's pages that may apply. Post links to your reading, and ask specific questions about that reading. You should get good help then...
