Hello everyone,
I'm currently an undergraduate who is majoring in math and minoring in physics. Since it's the start of the new year, I thought that joining a community, such as this, would be both helpful and fun. As I said, I'm primarily a math major, but physics has really grown on me lately. Since I come from a more pure math background, I thought that learning from a more physics oriented community, like this, would make me a more well-rounded student; also, it seems like this site will be a great place to converse with other math and physics enthusiasts.

Outside of school, I still mostly enjoy studying and doing mathematics while drinking copious amounts of coffee. I don't watch most current television, but I'm an avid Star Trek, Twilight Zone, and MST3K fan. I'm also somewhat of a runner which I find is a good stress reliever when I get too preoccupied with my studies.

In all, this looks like an excellent site and great community. I plan to be posting here a lot!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
