Hello, Physics Forums community,

I'm Jordan, a new member to the forums. I've followed them for quite some time, though, for recommendations on physics books and such.

My interests regarding physics and science are very broad. I'm currently in a biophysics track program at the University of Washington, but I'm finding that I have a stronger desire to do astronomy. So when I am done with my undergraduate degree, I will do everything I can, self study and all, to get accepted into an astronomy graduate program.

Everything about the universe excites me, but I always love learning about stellar evolution and supernovae. You'll probably find me lurking in the astrophysics threads here, asking questions and giving my input when I can! :)

Thanks!

Hello, I am also an astronomy lover!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
