What sparked my interest in electricity?

Hola Everone, My name is Caleb, I am currently a junior in high school. I attend two high schools, one is just a standard high school, the other is a vocational high school which I attend for "Electrical Trades". I've been interested in electricity ever since I was a little nose picker back in the day. I remember I had this stoplight lamp that I took apart and I put two wires together (I believe making a short circuit) and it sent sparks everywhere and sending me running out of the room with my heart pounding. I hope to gain enough knowledge from this website so that I never have to run out of a room screaming again :).
