Which Journal Would Publish the First Unified Physics Theory?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around the hypothetical scenario of a unified theory of physics and the anticipated publication venue for such groundbreaking research. Participants humorously speculate that the announcement could first emerge from unconventional sources, such as a personal website or popular media outlets like People Magazine. There are playful suggestions about the paper being published in a fictional "Journal of the Unification of Physics," possibly in a whimsical format like a swimsuit issue. Some participants propose established journals like "Physical Review" or "Sciature," while others note that significant scientific gatherings, such as the Marapril meeting, would likely disseminate the news before formal publication. Overall, the conversation blends humor with insights on how major scientific breakthroughs might be communicated to the public.

Hypothetical question: If physics is ever unified, what journal would you expect the paper to first be published in?

Or in other words how do you think the world will first learn of it?

I believe its the profits who first hear the word of god, and then pass it on through their disciples. That could be Moe, Larry, Curly, or Shemp.

I think Sheldon Cooper will tell Lenard who will tell Penny and we find out about it from People Magazine.

Haha, I would love to see that episode!

Obviously, The Journal of the Unification of Physics. Most likely the swimsuit issue.

Because it's likely to make a big splash in physics

It would probably appear in "Physical Review ABCDE." or perhaps in "Sciature."It's a moot point anyway, because everyone would have already heard about the work at the Marapril meeting.
