George is great. The time he posed as a marine biologist!

I liked all the characters better than Kramer, but that doesn't say much since I never saw much humor in Seinfeld anyway. It was a rather annoying show full of annoying characters.

I'm more fond of the older sitcoms than more recent ones. I really liked the character Jo Polnacek (not sure about the spelling...the scrappy brunette) on The Facts of Life.

2) Charlie Sheen in Spin City
3) the three guys in Friends, not them boring superfluous girls

Blackadder (needs mentioning!)
Basil Fawlty
Woody (Cheers)...or Norm...or Cliff..hm, I love Cheers.

How could I forget? Mr. Bean!

Manchot and Dduardo know what is up.

During season 2 I oscillated between GOB and Buster, but as of now, clearly, it is GOB. Michael Bluth is good, and Jason's delivery of Michael's lines is often near perfection, but GOB is the source of comedy. (BTW, it's pronounced, "jobe")

Kramer was great, but until AD is officially dead, it is GOB.

I loved Greg's father in Dharma & Greg.

Niles(David Hyde Pierce) in Frasier.

And what about Lister?! Or Cat?!

I actually like all four main characters on that show (Dharma, Greg, and his parents).

Niles(David Hyde Pierce) in Frasier.
He's done some really amusing stuff and is my favorite character on a show I don't otherwise think is that great.

  • #46
ahhh, Niles, I keep forgetting all these characters!

Dave Brent in the original version of The Office. I don't think anything alive has made me cringe as much as watching Dave Brent. Genius.

Also, Rimmer from Red Dwarf.

Darlene connor from roseanne
Eric Cartman from south park
Daria morgendoffor from Daria
Homer simpson, agnes skinner from the simpsons

Niles and Frasier from Frasier!

Hawkeye from M*A*S*H*

It may be old, but I think MASH was one of the best.

Most of my favorites are from 35+ years ago, since I haven't watched much TV entertainment since about 1972.

Gomez (John Astin) - The Addams Family

Jed Clampett (Buddy Ebsen) - The Beverly Hillbillies

Sheriff Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith) and Deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts) - The Andy Griffith Show

Captain Wilton Parmenter (Ken Berry), Sgt Morgan O'Rourke (Forrest Tucker), Cpl Randolph Agarn (Larry Storch) - F Troop

Maxwell Smart (Don Adams), Chief (Edward Platt), Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon), Hymie the Robot (Dick Gautier) - Get Smart

Gilligan (Bob Denver), Professor (Russell Russell Johnson), Skipper (Alan Hale), Mary Anne (Dawn Wells), Ginger (Tina Louise), Mr. and Mrs Howell (Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer) - Gilligan's Island

Oliver Wendell and Lisa Douglas (Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor), Eb Dawson (Tom Lester) - Green Acres

Hogan's Heros - whole cast

Jeannie (Barbara Eden), Maj Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman), Maj Roger Healey (Bill Daily) - I Dream of Jeannie

Quinton McHale (Ernest Borgnine), Ensign Palmer (Tim Conway) - McHale's Navy

Herman Munster (Fred Gwynne) - The Munsters

Uncle Martin (Ray Walston) - My Favorite Martian

Petticoat Junction - whole cast

More modern stuff

Hawkeye, Trapper John McIntyre, B. J. Hunnicutt, Radar, Col Blake, Sherman T. Potter, Father Mulcahy (M*A*S*H)

Frasier, Niles, Martin and Daphne (from Frasier) are very enjoyable.

Coupling - Steve, Jeff and Patrick. The best line - "Results!" by Jeff.

I pretty much enjoy various characters of British comedy particularly that of the Monty Python crew, and Rowan Atkinson (Blackadder and Mr. Bean).

Seconded, on both counts.

Some days ago, I was digging through Youtube, hoping to find some clips from M*A*S*H episodes and ensconce myself in the nostalgia, but there were only a couple. =(

I did find a brilliant piece of Radar, playing drums though.

Incidentally, this is also the opening music for the BBC show Jeeves & Wooster (played by Stephen Fry & Hugh Laurie) that ran in the early 90's. I don't know what the music is though!
