Why do I have to wait 30 seconds for forum searches?

AI Thread Summary
Users are experiencing a 30-second wait period for forum searches, particularly when using features like "Get Posts" or "Find more posts by this user." Some report inconsistencies with the wait time, noting that it sometimes triggers a double-click issue. The problem appears to vary by browser, with users on Internet Explorer 7 and AOL encountering the wait, while Firefox 2.0 users report no issues unless they attempt a search within 30 seconds. This discrepancy raises questions about the impact of different browsers on search functionality. Overall, the discussion highlights frustrations with the search delay and its potential browser-related causes.

I don't know if anyone else has been experiencing this, but sometimes when I perform a forum search indirectly, such as by using the Get Posts feature, or "Find more posts by this user" I am told that I would have to wait for 30s before performing a search, even if I haven't done one in the last few hours, or after just logging in.

Its working fine for me. I have heard some people in other threads since the upgrade saying that the buttons at the top seem to double click for them.

When I click on 'get posts' then 'new posts', I get the 30 second wait period also.

Sometimes it "double-clicks" sometimes it doesn't. What browser are you using, by the way? I'm using IE7, though I don't know if the browsers make any difference.

I'm IE7 too.

Using Firefox 2.0, and I don't get the wait message unless it's been <30 seconds since my last try.
