the velocity of the jet will add to the velocity of the particles , so they will be have greater velocity right?
The discussion centers on the impracticality of integrating particle accelerators with jet aircraft. Participants highlight that the speed of a jet (less than 1 km/sec) is negligible compared to the speed of particles in accelerators (approximately 300,000 km/sec). The conversation also touches on the challenges of fitting a particle accelerator on a jet and the physics of velocity addition at high speeds. Ultimately, the consensus is that the concept lacks feasibility due to the significant differences in mass and velocity between jets and particles.
PREREQUISITESPhysicists, aerospace engineers, and anyone interested in the intersection of particle physics and aerospace technology will benefit from this discussion.

Besides, how could you fit a particle accelerator on a jet? And, have you calculated what % increase in velocity doing all this would net you? The particles are going very fast. Jet speed is virtually nothing compared to them. Might as well put a gun on a snail to increase the bullet's velocity.

Velocities don't add linearly at high speed like they do at low speed. So even if you could put a particle accelerator on a plane, it wouldn't accomplish anything.Andrax said:the velocity of the jet will add to the velocity of the particles , so they will be have greater velocity right?
