Women in math advice?

...all of my professors so far have been white Russian men.
Think of yourself as being in the middle of a great transition in the sciences. As other people have said, most professors are old white european men. While it may seem slow, that is starting to change and YOU can be one of the people to change it. You may find it interesting that my teacher for Calc I and II was a woman from the Caribbean (and Nigeria). Think of how inspiring you will be to other women when it is you teaching...

Although I am male, the stories of Emmy Noether and Sofia Kovalevskaya always inspire me.

I hope that my daughter (now 8) will appreciate the opportunites that they fought so hard for.

Also, almost everyone feels inferior in math! The love of a subject is always more important than raw talent.
