Can i make a lfs system with 500 mb space? What is the minimum I would require for a stable and secure system.. Has anyone here (dduardo) done this sort of thing before?
klusener said:ok, i finally got gentoo running from stage 2, but i went to the gentoo forums and saw this topic on freebsd vs gentoo.. I realize that freebsd has a better kernel and stability, etc... is it worth switching to freebsd, the only thing of value i find in gentoo is the portage, but the ports tree of fbsd seems to somewhat match it.. Can someone please give me a comparison of the two..

An Lfs system with 500 mb space refers to a file system that has a storage capacity of 500 megabytes (MB). It is a type of storage system used to organize and manage data on a computer or server.
An Lfs system with 500 mb space may be necessary for individuals or organizations that have a relatively small amount of data to store, such as personal files or small databases. It can also be used as a temporary storage solution for transferring files between devices.
An Lfs system with 500 mb space is a smaller and more limited storage option compared to other file systems, such as NTFS or HFS+. It may have different features and capabilities, and may not be suitable for storing large amounts of data or running complex applications.
Yes, an Lfs system with 500 mb space can be expanded or upgraded by adding additional storage space. This can be done by connecting external hard drives or using cloud storage services. However, the maximum storage capacity of the Lfs system may depend on the device or server it is installed on.
The main advantage of using an Lfs system with 500 mb space is its small size, making it a cost-effective and simple storage solution for basic needs. However, its limited storage capacity may make it less suitable for advanced or large-scale storage needs. Additionally, some Lfs systems may have compatibility issues with certain devices or operating systems.
