In summary, hundreds of Americans illegally entered Canada after a river party and were bussed back to the United States by Sarnia, Ontario's public transit. The high prices of medical drugs in the US compared to other countries, such as Canada, were also discussed. It was noted that Canadians take care of their neighbors and are considered great neighbors.

That's what you chaps get for not building a great, terrific wall along the St. Clair River (and along the Detroit River, the St. Lawrence River, the shores of Lakes Ontario, Erie, Huron and Superior, the Soo Locks, umpteen miles of prairie and mountains, and the middle of the library in Derby Line, Vermont / Stanstead, Quebec).

'The Americans were gathered at Sarnia, Ontario, and bussed back to the United States by the city's public transit.'
Oh, the disgrace! The shame!

Yesterday, I discussed why prices on medical drugs in the US are four times as high as they are in Canada (or Norway, or Japan, or ...) and mentioned, that the two societies shouldn't be that different. Well, I didn't have the least chance to defend this assumption and had to admit that there IS a huge difference. (I discussed it with someone who has been raised in the US.)

They say " God takes care of drunks and fools."
Apparenty Canadians do too.
What great neighbors !

Bonjour y'all, eh ?

1. How are Americans illegally washing up in Canada?

According to reports, many Americans are crossing the border into Canada by boat or by swimming across the Great Lakes. Some are also using smaller, more remote entry points along the border.

2. Why are these Americans choosing to enter Canada illegally?

The reasons vary, but some cite the current political climate in the United States as a factor. Others may be seeking job opportunities or a change of scenery. It is also possible that some are seeking asylum in Canada.

3. What are the consequences for illegally entering Canada?

Entering Canada without proper documentation or authorization is a criminal offense and can result in fines, imprisonment, and deportation. Those seeking asylum may have their cases reviewed, but there is no guarantee of approval.

4. How is the Canadian government handling this situation?

The Canadian government is working with border patrol and law enforcement agencies to increase surveillance and monitoring along the border. They are also working to improve the immigration process and provide resources for those seeking asylum.

5. Are there any solutions being proposed to address this issue?

Some have suggested increasing legal immigration options to make it easier for Americans to enter Canada through official channels. Others advocate for stricter border control and enforcement measures. Ultimately, finding a solution will require collaboration and cooperation between the US and Canadian governments.
