how to design a bms circuit for nimh. we have 11 cells in one battery pack and and all the cells are in series, if one cell discharge rapidly then how to moniter it through controller?
A NiMH battery management system is a circuit that is designed to monitor and control the charging and discharging of a Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery. It ensures the safe and efficient operation of the battery by preventing overcharging, over-discharging, and overheating.
A NiMH battery management system works by constantly monitoring the voltage and temperature of the battery, and adjusting the charging and discharging currents accordingly. It also includes safety features such as short-circuit protection and overvoltage protection to prevent damage to the battery or surrounding circuitry.
Using a NiMH battery management system can prolong the lifespan of the battery by preventing overcharging and over-discharging, which can lead to irreversible damage. It also ensures the safety of the battery and the surrounding circuitry by incorporating protection features.
While a NiMH battery management system is specifically designed for NiMH batteries, it can also be used for other battery chemistries such as NiCd and Li-ion. However, it may require some modifications to the circuit to accommodate the different voltage and temperature ranges of these batteries.
It is highly recommended to use a NiMH battery management system for the safe and efficient operation of NiMH batteries. Without proper management, these batteries can be prone to overcharging, over-discharging, and overheating, which can lead to reduced performance and potential safety hazards.
