In summary, there are a variety of options for robotics books for engineers, including "Introduction to Autonomous Mobile Robots" by Roland Siegwart, Illah Nourbakhsh, and Davide Scaramuzza, "Robotics: Modelling, Planning and Control" by Bruno Siciliano, Lorenzo Sciavicco, Luigi Villani, and Giuseppe Oriolo, and "Robotics, Vision and Control: Fundamental Algorithms in MATLAB" by Peter Corke. There are also several books specifically for beginners, such as "Robot Building for Beginners" by David Cook, "Make: Electronics: Learning Through Discovery" by Charles Platt, and "Robotics: Everything You Need to Know About Robotics from Beginner to Expert" by Peter

Hi,

I am a mechanical engineer and I want to learn more about Robotics. Can you please recommend me some (academic) books?
Are there some books seen as "the bible" for robotic engineers or books that "any robotics engineer should have"?

Thank you very much in advance!

Springer Handbook of Robotics 2e edited by Bruno Siciliano and Oussama Khatib is the closest I'm aware of as a relatively comprehensive reference.

You'll also want two or more regular textbooks or digital resources at your level, but choosing those is more a matter of taste.
