Is there any possibility in silvaco TCAD to introduce Band gap in material.
i want to use different energy band gap for different transport direction of a material.
i.e.transverse direction one energy gap value and longitudinal directon different energy
x-axis one energy value and y direction one energy value

Yes, it is possible to introduce a band gap in Silvaco TCAD. You can set different energy band gaps for different transport directions by selecting the relevant material properties in the TCAD simulation setup. For example, if you want to simulate a material with different band gaps in the x- and y-axes, you can select the appropriate material parameters in the Material Properties tab of the simulation setup.

1. What is the Silvaco TCAD Energy band gap issue?

The Silvaco TCAD Energy band gap issue refers to a known discrepancy between the theoretical and measured values of the energy band gap in certain semiconductor materials. This issue can affect the accuracy of simulations and predictions in semiconductor device modeling.
