What is the Influence Function Method and its application in fracture mechanics?

In summary, the Influence Function Method is a mathematical approach used in fracture mechanics to determine the stress intensity factor at a crack tip. It involves calculating the influence of a unit displacement on the stress distribution near the crack tip, and using this to determine the stress intensity factor. This method has been successfully applied in analyzing the behavior of cracks in different materials and structures, providing valuable insights into fracture mechanics and aiding in the design of more efficient and durable structures.

How did you find PF?
I found this PF on web while I am searching for forums related to my research.
Hello everyone!
My name is Phyo Myat Kyaw. I am a first year doctoral student at Osaka University.
My research area is mainly fracture mechanics. I am now developing a SIF calculation system using Influence Function Method.
My future work is to integrate the developed calculation system into Fatigue crack propagation analysis system.
I really hope that I could share these experiences with you all.

Phyo
