Trig Integral Question: Solving \intsin32x dx | Tips & Tricks for Calculus

Yea integrating by parts seems to be the preferred way to attack these types of problems. The chapter was focusing on u-substitution though so I tried going with that. I just can't tell if I made a mistake or if the book did (there's been a couple times in the past) or if the book's answer is...

Trig Integral Question: Solving \intsin32x dx | Tips & Tricks for Calculus

    Homework Statement \intsin32x dx 2. The attempt at a solution \intsin32x dx = \int(1-cos22x)sin2x dx = (-1/2)\int(1-cos22x)-2sin2x dx = (-1/2)\int(1-u2)du where u= cos2x (-1/2)(u-(u3/3)) = (-cos 2x/2)+(cos32x/6) + C Book says (cos3x/3)-(cosx/2) + C Where did I go wrong?

Combustion Reactions: Answers to Your Questions

Homework Statement Does combustion reactions always result in water and carbon dioxide being formed, can it just have water or just carbon dioxide, or does water and carbon dioxide not need to be products. Furthermore would Iron(II)oxide(s) + oxygen(g)--> iron(III)oxide(s) be considered a...

I think the question is: How were early color photographs created?

Earlier today, I was browsing a wonderful WWI inventory of color photographs when I stumbled upon some rather strange looking ones.If you go to the color picture gallery on the left side column of the page and then go to page two, you will see a few examples of what I am talking about...

Can you cool off the kitchen by leaving the refrigerator door open?

Well I read them both, and I'm still not sure. Heat and thermodynamics have always been a weak spot for me and the fact that I'm trying to convert 2007 into all bases up to 13 probably doesn't help. I'm guessing the answer is no but have no definitive proof to explain why. At 11:00 at night (i...

Can you cool off the kitchen by leaving the refrigerator door open?

Ok so I'm still not sure I have the answer. Is it because originally, before the heat pump starts to work, the area inside the refrigerator and the area outside are at equal temp but once the heat pump begins to work the refrigerator area gets cooler but makes the outside area somewhat warmer...

Can you cool off the kitchen by leaving the refrigerator door open?

Ok I think i get why it might not cool down the kitchen but I can't put it into words. Doesn't the heat pump somehow move the thermal energy from the refrigerator into the kitchen. Then if you just opened the refrigerator it wouldn't do anything but i can't explain that part.

Can you cool off the kitchen by leaving the refrigerator door open?

Well I thought that it would cool down the kitchen until it reached an equilibrium but that seemed almost too obvious of an answer. For 2, I originally thought the diagonal one would be best because it creates two triangles but then I figured the the crossing one would be more stable. For 3, I...

Can you cool off the kitchen by leaving the refrigerator door open?

Alright, I'm stuck on a few problems with a physics brain teaser sheet. 1. Suppose you have a very small kitchen with a refrigerator. Can you cool off the kitchen by leaving the refreigerator door open? 2. Which bracing for a screen is strongest: two vertical bars, one horizontal bar...

Is VRNA the Key to Life Without Water?

I know that one of the biggest catalyst in creating life is water but i was wondering if its even possible that life can form in places without water by a different catalyst.

    Evaporation is a cooling process?

A few days ago i took a test on heat and temperature ect. One of the questions was : When we say evaporation is a cooling process, we are saying that: a. surrounding air is cool b. the liquid is cooled. I chose a. because i knew that evaporation draws in energy from air to evaporate cooling the...
