Hang on, am I right in thinking they're: ddc udc uuc dsc ssc usc?

Six Baryons that contain a Charm Quark?

Homework Statement Basically I've been asked to draw a isospin vs. charge diagram - not a problem. But the question states that this is a sextet, but when I look at the combinations/look up baryons with charm quarks - there are many more than six! Am I missing some quark combination rules for...

    Dirac's equation notation definition?

Homework Statement I've been asked to write what this is explicitly - γμ∂μ Homework Equations (γμ∂μ-im)ψ = 0 - Dirac's equation The Attempt at a Solution I understand that γμ is a matrix but depending on what μ is they're all completely different :S How can it be written...

Kaon in an accelerator, Lorentz transformation problem

Yeah it's actually 0.995 or something like that, it's just it seems from the nature of the question that it would require more work than that - I also don't understand where these components fit into a 4-vector? Thanks for this, K xx

Kaon in an accelerator, Lorentz transformation problem

Homework Statement Ok so a Kaon (m = 500MeV) is accelerated from rest along the z-axis to a final energy of 5GeV, I need to find two factors of a lorrentz transformation β and γ and write a four vector for this. Homework Equations β=p/E γ=E/m The Attempt at a Solution I have...

Calculate the Period of a Planet.

Really? Surely if one planet is extremely light and the other is heavy by comparison but still less than the sun then the force on the heavier planet and therefore it's orbital velocity would be much larger? I'm not disagreeing, it's just this was the impression I was always under: that if...

Can Police Catch the Speeding Motorist?

Yes you do, assuming the question means the police react as the bike passes parallel to them. using: S = ut + 1/2*a*t2 You find that the police travel 281.25m in the 15 seconds they accelerate, plus the 2 seconds they waited, so in 17s they have traveled 281.25m and accelerated to a...

Calculate the Period of a Planet.

0.865 years ISN'T correct, You have forgotten to square each part, use this: Using Kepplers 3rd Law: P12/P22 = R12/R22 However, this is a poor question, it assumes these planets will have the same density/mass which is pretty much never the case. may want to mention this to your teacher!

How Do I Draw a Feynman Diagram for e+e- → VeVe?

Well surely if both the electron and the positron are joined to the same vertex then they have annihilated into a mediator, no? And if they are not then they have simply scattered off each other via the exchange of a mediator? God I hate this, I know I'm being really stupid but thank-you for...

How Do I Draw a Feynman Diagram for e+e- → VeVe?

But the total charge on the LHS is zero, as is the charge on the RHS so surely it's a Z boson? Or am I being silly? Karly xoxox

How Do I Draw a Feynman Diagram for e+e- → VeVe?

No because they have no charge :) do both sides have to be affected by the mediator? That might be a stupid question I'm sorry but I don't know If they do then this must be via a W boson? Am I right? K xoxo

How Do I Draw a Feynman Diagram for e+e- → VeVe?

Feynman Diagrams! Please Help! Hi guys! I've been asked to draw a scattering and annihilation Feynman diagram for the following scenario: e+e- → VeVe (The second Ve is an anti-neutrino just couldn't figure how to put the bar on! :P I've tried it and I'm convinced the mediating...

Solutions to a quantum harmonic oscillator - desperate for help

But there's still two unknowns E and sigma - sorry I know I'm being really stupid here; I know how to get to the form you've given I just don't know how to get from there to a value for sigma? :( xoxox

Solutions to a quantum harmonic oscillator - desperate for help

So that's how I find out the energy levels, right? But I still don't know how to get the sigma? I really appreciate this guys I just need pointing in the right direction ^ _ ^<3 xoxoxox

Solutions to a quantum harmonic oscillator - desperate for help

I put the wavefunction in and took the 2nd derivative and all that I canceled a load of common terms and ended up with E = (-h(bar)2/2m)*(x2)/(4σ2) + 1/2*(mω2x2) Is this right? I don't get how to pick a value so all the x's disappear? <3 Cheers guys xoxox
