Breaking point of rod under torsion

Everything else being equal, the rod doesn't 'know' which end is having torque applied and which is fixed, thus it can break at either end.

How can we improve the safety of school/tour buses in the event of a collision?

Yes - prove yourself. Come up with a design idea, and people will take it from there.

Finding the Right Module for Spur Gears

    Yes - round up

Is Traditional Drawing Still Relevant for Engineers?

You are not wasting your time - nothing is faster for presenting or explaining an initial idea than pen and paper.

    What Machines Are These (Metrology)?

Quality control - for measuring tolerances on finished products I think

Property lines on the 2d projections

http://www.et.web.mek.dtu.dk/Coolpack/UK/Index.html During my thermo. class I used CoolPack exclusively - It is a Danish developed application that will draw the diagrams for different fluids. T.s, H.s, Log-P.H etc. And it IS in English :)

Is assigning density value in static analysis necessary?

Doesn't that entirely depend on the part and whether mass/gravity should be taken into account? I wouldn't want to neglect weight if doing a static analysis on a bridge :)

What is the De Laval nozzle and how is it used in supersonic expansion?

You'll want to look up De Laval nozzle for starters, here's the wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Laval_nozzle

Mesh generation from an ultrasound image

GMSH has this capability, don't ask me how to obtain it though. http://geuz.org/gmsh/gallery/lenna.gif

What is exact reason behind choosing basic primitive shapes for elements in FEA?

A follow-up question from me: Why does it seem like pretty much every mesher aims to create quads/hexahedrons, and from my own experience quads/hexahedrons blows away triangles/tetrahedrons in terms of density/precision of result; fewer quads/hexa are required to reach a comparable analytical...

Calculating Required Area for Radiator: Clarifying Confusion

Total area that comes in (effective) contact with the flowing air. You'd be surprised how small the 0.64m² finned radiator will end up being.

Yet you lived to tell the tale. Perhaps that indicates something to the OP :approve:

Im actually also in the process of gathering said information, but for some reason it is really hard to come by - so if anyone could lend me a hand :)
