Graduate Probablity robotics, Bayes filter reasoning problem
Thanks, now more clear if they are not related. Still I can't get this: where form does the Author obtained that information / assumption? If thinking of the assumption on the noise of the sensor, I imagine that they repeated a sequence of experiments, placing hypothesis and concluded that...- cncnewbee

Graduate Probablity robotics, Bayes filter reasoning problem
Hi, On section 2.4.2. of the "Probabilistic robotics" book, there is an example to demonstrate the way a Bayes filter works. I only can't understand one point in the example, I hope you help to get it. This is the whole example: The point I can't get to, is the formula (2.42). I think...- cncnewbee

Compact form for an infinite multiplication
Thank you all, I learned from your answers that the other way of expressing that is by using a recursive expression combined together with Pi (∏) notation and that there is no unique tool in math-notation for a compact form in this case.- cncnewbee

Compact form for an infinite multiplication
Hi, In the middle of the article about Franciscus Vieta, here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franciscus_Vieta I see an infinite product as an expression for Pi: 2 * 2/2^(1/2) * 2/(2+(2^(1/2))^(1/2) * ... I was wondering, how this could be written in compact form using math notation please?- cncnewbee

Undergrad Question on rotational transform matrix, I
Hi, I'm reading a book called Robotics, written by Tadej Bajd on my own to learn about robotics and have no one else to put my questions other than to the forums. Here the writer on 11th page writes: "By considering the similarity of triangles in Figure 2.3, it is not difficult to derive...
