Thank you Jim
I have been looking at this incorrectly, provided the DG transformers are backwardly soaked then there is no drought that the could sync to the GT...
You have filled the hole in my understanding of correctly syn gen sets, again thanks...

the generators are not paralleled on the LV side but would deliver 415v at 0 angle if required, thus if one wanted to you could parallel on to a LV network quiet simply. The problem is the step-up transformers!. to run the sets out by 30 degrees would require measuring the voltage angle on...
Firstly apologies for not returning to this earlier and thank you for your answers thus far however they did not touch on the problem statement, Initially in the post we had a embedded HV network using a combination of LV DG and GT sets stepping up through transformers with different vector...
We would load shed because the load is too much for the diesels to support on there own.
There is interlocks to ensure the sets diesel and gas can run together only when synchronised, to clarify there is no loss of supply as the diesels take the load the gas turbines (CHP) will come off line...
Looking for some guidance on the effect of long term paralleling of different generation sets in a private network as follows:
2 x 2.5MVA diesel generators stepped up to 11kV through DYn11 (in reverse to obtain a neutral while islanding)
3 x 1.0MVA Gas turbines stepped up to 11Kv through Yyn11...
>> I have added the data file in exel format, it is 3000 samples long, this would be 1.5 seconds of a larger time set.
>>Just to note i am using the per unit (pu) system on my model, so this is why the time domain shows -1000 to 1000, all the time domain graphing is correct, its the fft that...
Hi , Hope someone could offer me a solution to this piece of code, the code below shows a period in time of a synchronous generator transient response, My scaling is the problem as I am not getting 50 Hz 230 volts, your help would be appreciated..
My efforts so far are
% Transient...
Hi
Would anyone be able to give me some guidance on creating a step load in Simulink, I need this type of loading to observe frequency (slew rate) when a diesel engine with voltage control drives a asynchronous motor. I have most of the circuit built and am using Sim power systems mat lab v12...
hi
i want to check if i have done this the right way as their are two density values given.
i used bernoulli's equation for incompressable fluid flow.
V^2 = 2(p1-p2)/air density = 0.166 meters/s
is it correct to use the air density in this way even though the manamoter is filled with...
hi yes it is polar notation, got my notation and common sense mixed up (late one last night)
the equation repersents the excitation current angle of a sychronous generator, ( Ia ∠ x ) stands for stator amps at some angle
(2300∠ 15 ) = (1154.7∠ 0) + ( Ia ∠ x ) . ( 4 ∠ 90 )
can some...
no problem Jim
glad to be of assistance to any likeminded individual !
I’ve included the graph of your query on Xar, and also the schematic of the Matlab Simulink
there is enough to cause the gremilins Iaml is having, the graph I included is zoomed right in on start up to give you an...
hi
can anybody advise on this, need to find the angle out of the following
2300=2000+(0.5<x).(4<90)
got as far as
300/4<90 = 0.5<x
= 75<90= 0.5<x
is this correct and anybody able to finish this off
regards
hi again iaml
I agree that the voltage is doubling however, have you considered that this is a step response.that said MATLAB will put this step on to anything you want however, what you will see is the step response in time. Can you let me know what declimatiion your simulation is running...
