Find an equation of a rational function
Find an equation of a rational function f(x)that satisfies the conditions. We're allowed to use a calculator, by the way. (: Okay, conditions: vertical asymptote: x=-5, x=0 Horizontal asymptote: y=0 x-intercept=7; f(1)=4 On the test i had no idea how to do it, but after seeing...- DDRchick

Finding wavelength with just frequency?
Yeah...i was about to delete this forum topic because i finally found the same problem in an earlier assignment. I'd have to use the speed of light and divide the Hz. xD Woops. Thanks guys =)- DDRchick

Finding wavelength with just frequency?
One radio station in the middle of the FM band has a frequency of 95.0 MHz. What is its wavelength? lambda=v/f I assume that the velocity of the wave is 343 m/s. I convert 95MHz to Hz, which is 95,000,000 Hz. lambda=(343 m/s) / 95,000,000 Hz. I come up with 3.51e-6. Webassign...- DDRchick

Calculating earth's speed using radius and speed of light, etc.
I used LowlyPion's equation and plugged in the radius, and then divided by the number of seconds. It marked it correct. :D Thanks so much!- DDRchick

Calculating Radius of Curvature for Upright Image Mirror
Ugh It's still wrong. :/ Crap bucket. di/10=7.9 di=79 1/f=1/79+1/10 f=8.88 r/2=8.88 8.88(2) = 17.76 I tried it with a negative sign too just for kicks, that was marked wrong also. :(- DDRchick

Calculating Radius of Curvature for Upright Image Mirror
A production line inspector wants a mirror that produces an upright image within magnification of 7.9 when it is located 10.0 mm from a machine part. What is its radius of curvature? I used: r/2 = f 1/f=(1/do) + or - (1/di) m=di/do first i did 7.9=10/do then i found that...- DDRchick

Calculating earth's speed using radius and speed of light, etc.
Well I figure, radius is half a diameter, right? So i multiplied the radius (1.5 x 10^8) by two. then i found the number of seconds in a year, which is 31,536,000. I even tried just doing (1.5x10^8)/# seconds in a year and it wa s still wrong. :( **Because it won't let me edit the...- DDRchick

Ole Roemer found that the average increased delay in the disappearance of Io from one orbit around Jupiter to the next is 14 s. (a) How far does light travel in 14 s? 1 m (b) Each orbit of Io takes 42.5 h. Earth travels the distance calculated in part (a) in 42.5 h. Find the speed of...- DDRchick

A wave generator produces 28.6 pulses in 4.10 s
so T= 4.1/28.6? which would be 0.143...? LOL i was doing it reversed gosh I am so dumb xD thankss :) and so its frequency would be 1/0.143. Okay n.n Thanks for straightening me out. :)- DDRchick

A wave generator produces 28.6 pulses in 4.10 s
1. A wave generator produces 28.6 pulses in 4.10 s. (a) What is its period? *solved* (b) What is its frequency? *solved* 2. period= 1/freq. v=wvlngth (freq) wvlngth= v/freq 3. i tried to find the number of pulses per second, which I think is 6.9756... idk what to do from there x.x- DDRchick

Projectile Motion of half court basketball shot
1) vx=cos53 vy=sin53 13.5/2 = 6.75m 6.75 going up, 6.75 going down. t=d/v t=6.75/cos53v Timeup=vf-vi/a =sin53v/9.8 6.75m/cos53v=sin53v/9.8 cross multiply and it's just algebra from there. :) 2) sin52=y/32 cos52=x-5/32 vy/9.8=time time(2)=total total(x m/s) = Range :) You...- DDRchick
