How Does Using Multiple Extension Cords Affect Current?
I was wondering what the difference in current would be in one full extension cord versus several extension cords (which equal the same length as the first) attatched together? I was thinking there would be more resistance when the current goes from one cord to another but I'm not sure- drinkingstraw

Golf Club Air Friction: Mass, Velocity & Acceleration Effects
Im talking about the friction between a golf club and the air as the golf club is swinging towards the ball. how does the mass of the club, the velocity of the swing and the acceleration affect the friction acting on the club and how much will it slow down? I know the formuls is Ffrict =...- drinkingstraw

What is the Acceleration of a Pushed Crate with Friction?
A 200kg crate us pushed horizontally with a force of 700 N. If the coefficient of friction is 0.20, calculate the acceleratio of the crate. I tried doing this but I don't seem to be getting the right answer. m = 200 kg f(app)= 700 N U = 0.20 Ff = (0.20)(200)(-9.81) =-392.4 N...- drinkingstraw

When will one car overtake the other? (acceleration, veolcity, time)
You said to first solve for time but in order to do so, the equations ask for a value for deltaD. Are you saying I would get a quadratic equation for time? For the car: deltaD = 3deltat^2 For the truck: deltaD = 21deltat Is this what I was supposed to do? Next I changed the...- drinkingstraw

When will one car overtake the other? (acceleration, veolcity, time)
For the truck: deltaD = [(vi + vf)/2] x deltaT deltaT = 2deltaD/(vi+vf) For the car: delta D = vi x deltaT + 0.5 x acceleration x deltaT^2 how would I rearrange this one? *** how would I solve for these without knowing the deltaD value?- drinkingstraw

One object exerting force on another
Two steel blocks are at rest on a frictionless horizontal surface. Block X has a mas of 3.0 kg ans is attacthed by means of a light taut string to block Y that has a mass of 12 kg. A force of 45 N (E) is applied to block x. Calculate the force block Y exerts on block x. I don't have any idea...- drinkingstraw

When will one car overtake the other? (acceleration, veolcity, time)
For the truck: deltaD = [(vi + vf)/2] x deltaT For the car: delta D = vi x deltaT + 0.5 x acceleration x deltaT^2 Would I use these two?- drinkingstraw

When will one car overtake the other? (acceleration, veolcity, time)
The equations I could use are: deltaD = [(vi + vf)/2] x deltaT delta D = vi x deltaT + 0.5 x acceleration x deltaT^2 deltaD = vf x deltaT - 0.5 x acceleration x deltaT^2 deltaD = (vf^2 - vi^2)/(2 x acceleration)- drinkingstraw

When will one car overtake the other? (acceleration, veolcity, time)
As a traffic light turns green, a waiting car starts with a constant acceleration of 6.0 m/s^2.At the instant the car begins to accelerate, a truck with a constant velcoity of 21 m/s pass in the next lane. (a) How far will the car travel before it overtakes the truck? (b) How fast will the...- drinkingstraw

Velocity,time,acceleration question
A blue car moving at constant speed of 10m/s passes a polic car that is at rest. The police car accelerates from rest at 4m/s^2 for 3.0 seconds and then maintains a constant speed. The blue car maintains constant speed for the entire 12 seconds. When does the police car pass the blue car...- drinkingstraw
