Graduate Is the Spin of Electrons Aligned Opposite to Net Magnetization in Ferromagnets?
But even when no magnetic field is applied, the magnetization polarizes the charger carriers passing by. I don't understand it, since it seems that the minority band has a higher density of states at the fermi level.- eintagsfliege

Graduate Is the Spin of Electrons Aligned Opposite to Net Magnetization in Ferromagnets?
hm...how comes then, that the electrons passing a uniform magnetization tend to align its spin to the magnetization?- eintagsfliege

Graduate Is the Spin of Electrons Aligned Opposite to Net Magnetization in Ferromagnets?
Hi everybody The bands of up- and down-spins are split in the bandstructur of a ferromagnet. Does the part with the higher amount result in a net magnetization? If yes, doesn't that mean, that electrons passing a ferromagnet, they align their spin in the opposite direction compared to the...- eintagsfliege

Graduate Penetration Depth of Oxygen in Iron Thin Films
If anyone has the same question, I found a good publication about "Thin oxide film growth on Fe(100)". Here the link: http://prl.aps.org/abstract/PRL/v68/i12/p1947_1 Cheers- eintagsfliege

Graduate Penetration Depth of Oxygen in Iron Thin Films
Hi! Can anyone name me literature about the penetration depth of Oxygen in iron thin films? I am wondering how deep an iron film can be oxidized. Thanks for any suggestions about this topic :)- eintagsfliege

Undergrad No coupling of Photons with eletric fields
Thank you for the I read in several Publications that Delbruck-effect is the scattering of high-energy photons (MeV to GeV gamma rays) on a Coulomb-Field of a Nucleus. My question is: Why is it needed that the Photonenergies are this high? Which magnitude is required for the Coulomb-Field...- eintagsfliege

Undergrad No coupling of Photons with eletric fields
I heard in the school a long time ago, that photons do not have a coupling with an electric field. Can someone explain it detailed? Does someone have good online literature? Thanks in advance!- eintagsfliege

Undergrad What are the image charges inside the spheres?
I am sorry. Some years ago, I had lectures about Electrodynamics. Unfortunately, I don't have my books here. But so far I remember these Image Method. I just can't remember how to calculate the electrical field between the inifinite plate and the charged sphere with a radius a. Maybe someone...- eintagsfliege

Undergrad What are the image charges inside the spheres?
The more little the radius of the sphere is, the higher the electric field grows. But how should the formula look like for the electric field?- eintagsfliege

Undergrad What are the image charges inside the spheres?
Hi together I want to calculate an electrical field between a sphere and a plate, where the sphere has a certain voltage and the plate is on ground. Has someone a suggestion to begin?- eintagsfliege
