Hello PF, Frioz here!
I received a B.S. in Physics from a large state university this May, but I quickly realized that pursuing academia and a higher degree was not something that I wanted to do straight out of college. In lieu of that, I worked in the physics demonstration lab for four years...
I cannot seem to find this error.. I saw that I neglected a negative sign when solving for r, but that doesn't change the magnitude. Am I just missing something algebraic or is there a huge concept that's flying over my head?
Homework Statement
Both Newton's gravitational law and Coulomb's law are inverse-square laws: The force of attraction
between the sun (S) and Earth(E) has (G*m_S*m_E)/r^2, whereas the force of attraction between an electron and a proton in a hydrogen atom is (e^2)/(4*pi*epsilon_0*r^2). Derive...
I plan to pull together for the rest of my time in college. I apologize for ambiguity, when I said average GPA I meant anywhere above a 3.0. I can peak at around 3.4-3.5 if I get strong grades from now on (which I plan on doing.)
I see, that makes sense. I can understand the appeal that...
Hello everyone,
I am currently in my third semester at Rutgers University with a declared major in Physics. I aspire to do post-baccalaureate studies. However, my GPA is just "average." I have read through threads where the OP is in a similar situation to mine, and I have found a lot of...
Graduating Senior -- In need of some guidance!
Hello Physics Forums, I'd like to start off with the fact that I've read quite a bit on here, and I have seen and appreciated how helpful and generous everyone is with their opinions and information. I'm here now to ask for some advice. I plan on...
