How to Calculate Moles of Acetic Anhydride in an Organic Lab Experiment?
Molarity---Organic lab help Ok so I have to figure out how many moles of acetic anhydride is used in an experiment I'm doing tomorrow and all I am told is that the density is 1.08 g/ml. Am i suppose to be able to figure out the number of moles with just this information or should I be told...- GingerBread27

.Drawing Ray Diagrams: Tips & Tricks for Solving Problems
For the problem I posted above would it be correct to do: (1/do)+(1/di)=(1/f)=== (1/2)+(1/di)=(1/7), to get a di=-14/5=-2.8 cm, putting the image at 2.8 cm to the right of the lens? Or am I completely clueless as to what focal length truly means, I thought it meant that the image was 7 cm...- GingerBread27

.Drawing Ray Diagrams: Tips & Tricks for Solving Problems
I'm having a lot of trouble drawing ray diagrams (this is for a lab assignment). If anyone could give me some tips or links to websites that are helpful in teaching how to draw ray diagrams that would be great. One example of a problem is: A 1-cm tall arrow (the object) is placed 2 cm to the...- GingerBread27

Internal Reflection and Maximum Angles
A corner reflector is to be made from a triangular prism with index of refraction n=2.56, as shown in the diagram on your assignment. What is the maximum angle (in °), with respect to the normal to the front surface of the prism, (theta), such that total reflection will occur? Ok this must be...- GingerBread27

Find magnetic field at point on Circumference
Find magnetic field at point on Circumference/Ampere-Maxwell Eq. A uniform electric field points in the z direction with a value given by EZ(t) = a+bt, with a = 18 V/m and b = 2 V/(m s). The electric field is confined to a circular region in the xy plane with radius R = 4 meters. What is the...- GingerBread27

Induced EMF in loop in magnetic field
A circular loop of radius 17 cm is located in the plane of the paper inside a homogeneous magnetic field of 0.7 T pointing into the paper. It is connected in series with a resistor of 131 ohm. The magnetic field is now increased at a constant rate by a factor of 2.2 in 15 s. Calculate the...- GingerBread27

Wire Loop in Equilibrium-Angle?
The diagram on your assignment depicts a rectangular wire loop of width a = 13.5 cm and height b = 6.85 cm, that is connected to a current source that when turned on, gives rise to a current I = 0.20 Amps in the wire. The loop is suspended in a uniform magnetic field B = 0.30 T that points in a...- GingerBread27

Anti Parallel Currents and Magnetic Field
Two long parallel wires are a distance of d = 4.5 cm apart and carry equal antiparallel currents of 1 Amperes. Find the magnetic field intensity (in T) at the point P which is equidistant from the wires. (R = 2 cm). Now I really thought I had this. I thought the magnetic field at P would...- GingerBread27

Magnetic Field With Loop and Straight Wire Help
An infinitely long wire is formed as in the diagram on your assignment. It is formed so that it has a circular portion of R = 50.0 cm and the straight portion is located at a distance r from the center of the circular portion. Find r (in cm) such that the net magnetic field at the center of the...- GingerBread27

Finding Resistance in Infinite Chain of Resistors
Consider the above infinite chain of resistors. Calculate the effective resistance, R in ohm of the network between the terminals A and B given that each of the resistances labelled r=4180 ohm. I've split the resistor and I've done R^2-Rr-r^2=0, solving for R and I don't get the right...- GingerBread27

How Do You Calculate the X-Component of Electrical Force on a Charge?
The electric potential along the x-axis (in kv) is plotted versus the value of x, (in meters). Evaluate the x-component of the electrical force (in Newtons)on a charge of 2.10 micro-C located on the x-axis at x=-3.6 m. Ok I 'm doing Ex=-dV/dx. I get the slope to be (-7500 N/C) from doing...- GingerBread27

What Happens in the Presence/Absence of SRY
I'm confused as to what happens when the SRY gene is not present. In the book I use it says the gonads will become ovaries, but in my class notes it says testes will form. Can someone please explain to me SRY and what it relates to? Thanks- GingerBread27
