Homework Statement
integral of root(-x^2+10x-16)dx
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
i can factor the thing inside the root to (x-8)(x-2) if i pull out the negative sign
no idea what to do after that
I have a function:
y=e^x
the tangent line at the point (1,e) would be x*e?
in order to find the area between the tangent line, the y-axis and y=e^x i equate these functions and solve for x?
I got this far
(e^x)/(x)=e
how do i solve for x
take the derivative of the function set equal to zero and solve for x?
then if the function increases at a point less than the critical number and decreses after the critlcal point then its a max, and otherway if its min
but this function has the variables m and n and i can't solve for...
F(x)=x^m * (1-x)^n where m and n is greater or equal to 2?
find the x coordinates of local extrema?
would my answer be with respect to m and n? or do i plug in a number for these variables

Homework Equations
deltaF=pg(A1+A2)d2
The Attempt at a Solution
deltaF=pg(A1+A2)d2
i used that formula and found that the distance was 0.35m
yea the questoin is written correctly. This is part a: use differentiation formulas to find a formula for f''(x) for -infin<x<0 and 0<x<infin
and part b is the one i posted
