Failed to graduate but landed a full time job
Ryker, Thanks for the advice. I have never actually mentioned it to my boss or anyone at work yet. I don't think I'm ever required to submit a graduation certificate... but I agree I should be open and honest about the situation with my boss.- MadMike1986

Failed to graduate but landed a full time job
Hi everyone (particularly practicing engineers and managers of engineers) I failed one of my classes senior year, therefore failing to receive my degree (B.S. Physics ). Before graduation I was offered a job in the exact industry I wanted to work in with great pay and benefits. As it...- MadMike1986

Positon and Momentum Wavefunctions: Normalizability?
Thanks for the help. The integral of (sin(x))^2 dx from negative infinity to infinity does not converge, therefore it is not square integrable and not normalizable. My intuition is telling me that this means if you know the position exactly, then you can't know what the momentum is at...- MadMike1986

Positon and Momentum Wavefunctions: Normalizability?
Homework Statement The position and momentum wavefunctions are Fourier transform pairs. If a particle has a perfectly defined position wavefunction Psi(x) = delta(x - x0), then what is its momentum wavefunction? Is this function normalizable? Homework Equations Fourier transform...- MadMike1986

Graduate Derivation of Poisson's Equation and Laplace's Equation
Hi, Can someone point me in the right direction to a derivation of Poisson's Equation and of Laplace's Equation, (from Maxwell's equations I think) both in a vacuum and in material media? How does one get from Maxwell's equations to Poisson's and Laplace's?- MadMike1986

RIT Physics or SUNY Brockport for Financially Savvy College Dropouts?
HI, I admittedly have trouble making important decisions and would like some experienced input that I could mull over. I dropped out of a mechanical engineering program in my senior year of college and entered the workforce. I got layed off about a month ago and applied to RIT to finish...- MadMike1986

Programs ABET Accredited Online BS ME Degree? Searching with No Results
Thanks Astronuc that makes sense for Purdue or any othe major university. You'd think there would be online colleges willing to fill this huge gap though. I've found EE undergrad degrees but no ME ones. Is there really that big of a difference? Too bad ABET doesn't just grant degrees to...- MadMike1986

Programs ABET Accredited Online BS ME Degree? Searching with No Results
Is there such a thing as an ABET accredited online Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree? I've been searching for weeks and have found nothing. For some reason there are a few online EE degrees but no ME degrees to be found. If anyone knows of any please let me know. I want to...- MadMike1986

Engineering Employability of A.S. Degree in Engineering Science
Hi, I'm looking for some input from industry professionals on the employability of an individual with only an Associate's Degree in Engineering Science from a Community College. Generally this degree is meant only to get you into a 4 year school so you can finish a bachelors, but it involves...- MadMike1986

Undergrad Can Magnets Really Create Perpetual Motion?
i don't know, are you suggesting that perhaps sliding the shielding material would take the same amount of energy as is being used by the bottom magnet moving upward. I have no idea how magnetically shielding material works, but i can only assume that it involves some sort of interaction with...- MadMike1986
