    Electric & Gravitational Fields

Homework Statement (Prior to start of questions, it informs me the relative permittivity of free space is 8.9x10^-12) 2) An alpha particle (charge 3.2x10^-19) approaches to a distance of 1.5x10^-17 from a gold nucleus (charge 1.3x10^-17). Calculate: a) the strength of the field created...

    Rearranging Exponential Curve Equation

Hi, am sorry to be a pain but that makes no sense to me. In my calculator, I try ln ((V*R*C)/(Vo)) and it gives me -1.66s.

    Rearranging Exponential Curve Equation

Homework Statement Hello. I'm afraid it's quite a simple and unexciting problem I have. Basically, I can't remember how to rearrange the equation for an exponential curve: The capacitor has a capacitance of 0.63 mF and the resistance in the discharge circuit is 2.4 kΩ. (i) Calculate...

How Do You Calculate Vehicle Speeds After a Collision?

Homework Statement The diagram below shows a skethc drawn by an accident investigator following a head-on collision between two vehicles. Direction of Travel A (speed 12.5 m/s) and 2400kg -------------> <---------------- Direction of Travel of B, 3600kg, unknown...

Finding out how many electrons have passed a point in the circuit

I'm either incredibly stupid or my calculator is playing mind games. I'm inclined to believe it's the first one. Thanks for all your help learningphysics. I've finally got it.

Finding out how many electrons have passed a point in the circuit

I made it from negative nineteen to positive nineteen and got the right answer she said we should get. So did she make a typo with multiply ten to the power negative nineteen?

Finding out how many electrons have passed a point in the circuit

2.2*10^7 / 1.6*10^-19 gives me 1.375^-12 I can see that 1.375 is rounded up to 1.4 but the power is still -12 and the answer the college teacher has given us is 1.4*10^26

Finding out how many electrons have passed a point in the circuit

Homework Statement Calculate the charge which has passed through a point in a circuit when there is a current of 6.3kA for 58 minutes. Calculate the number of electrons passing a point in the circuit. How to work out the part in blue. Homework Equations We're told the charge of one...
