Why does an object have constant speed with Centripetal Force
And why doesn't it hit the target? Why is there a tangential acting velocity?- Masafi

Why does an object have constant speed with Centripetal Force
Well, why does the magnitude of the velocity, i.e. the speed, remain constant? Why doesn't it accelerate closer towards the Earth? If something has a force, say a person dragging something, why does that go towards the person, whilst in a circular motion, it spins around?- Masafi

Why does an object have constant speed with Centripetal Force
Hi, I understand how centripetal force works and all. But I still don't understand, when looking at a satellite orbiting the Earth, the only force acting is its weight, which is in the direction of the Earth. How does its circular motion start in the first place? If the only force there is is...- Masafi

How Is the Initial Current Calculated in a Discharge Graph?
Yeah, so at t=0, I = 12V/16ohms = 0.75A But the answer uses 1.6V, which I am not sure where they get from... "I = 1.6 V / 16 = 100 mA shown on axis " Shouldn't it be 12V since it says: "The capacitor is charged to 12 V again and then discharged through a 16ohms resistor" The time...- Masafi

Copper wire attached to the terminals of a cell
I know what it is, but I don't get how you apply it here. The direction of current is known (+ to -) , but force and the direction in which B field applied is not given? How does this relate to the previous arragement? What I can think is using the direction of B field to be from N to S pole...- Masafi

Principle of conservation of momentum
In a test laboratory, a car is crashed into a concrete wall and comes to rest. There is no damage to the wall. Explain of how the principle of conservation of momentum applies to this situation. Answer: The Earth plus car recoils with same momentum as the car had Why "the Earth" and not...- Masafi

Why is it difficult to measure 2000 amps with a series meter?
Suggest a reason why it is difficult to measure a large current (2000 amps) with a conventional meter in series in the circuit. The answer is: Even a very small resistance (in series) with 2000 A through it would generate much heat Why is this? How do we get this conclusion? From R=V/I...- Masafi

Centripetal acceleration at equator
The centripetal acceleration of a person standing at the equator is about 0.03 m s–2. (Radius of the Earth = 6.4 × 106 m.) The size of the force R provides a measure of the apparent strength of the gravitational field. Show that the apparent field strength g at the equator differs from...- Masafi

Equipotential Lines in a Uniform Electric Field: Force & Distance
In a uniform electric field, where 2 plates are placed horizontally and are parallel, the electric field is vertical.. What about the equipotential lines? Are they horizontal? Also, I need to draw a graph of how the Force on an electron varies with the distance from the bottom plate, and this is...- Masafi

Capacitor Diagram: Investigating Charging Process
Thanks. 4. Was a typo by me sorry. So why does the left plate become positive? Is it because the corresponding left side of cell (the line to the right of the resistor) is positive? 5. Oh ok. Why is that the build up of Q or V reduces flow? I = Q/t, so if Q increases, I increases?- Masafi
