Why is a fuse connected in the live wire only?
why is fuse connected in the live wire only? as current is same throughout the circuit( it is produced simultaneously in the whole circuit ie it does not 'originate' from any source) putting the fuse anywhere in series with the circuit should work.- miss photon

LED vs PN Diode: Intensity & Barrier Potential
when forward bias of led is increased, the intensity of emitted light increases until it reaches a max after which it starts decreasing again...why? also, in which of the two cases is barrier potential greater, led or pn diode?- miss photon

Undergrad Understanding Power Dissipation in Transmission Lines
hey, thanks for the link. but i still have a doubt. for transmission of power, high voltages are used so as to reduce current in the wires. then power dissipation thru resistance would be i^2*R.but it can also be written as v^2/R. so what's the actual difference bwtn power supplied and power...- miss photon

i found this in a textbook. at a high altitude the temperature of the atmosphere is 500 degrees centigrade. yet an animal there would freeze to death and not boil. why does this happen?- miss photon
