Understanding Force Equations: Solving for Weight, Normal, and Pulling Forces

Hello everyone, I have a physics test coming up and am working on the Pre-test however I have run into a problem and cannot find the proper equations anywhere to solve this... Box B has a mass of Mb=35.2kg and moves with a constant velocity along the x axis. The track has a friction...

Do I square acceleration when solving.

    Okay X=Vo*t+1/2*a*t^2 x=2.80 m/s + 8.5s + .5 * 11.3 m/s^2 * 8.5s^2 Ok so I first do my exponent with time 8.5 * 8.5 = 72.25 but do I multiply that by 11.3 * .5 or do i have to square the 11.3 (acceleration) which is 127.69. so is it 11.3 * .5 * 72.25 or 127.69 * .5 * 72.25?

Solving Basic Physics Problem: Help with x=8.0m/s*5.0s+ .5*3.0m/s^2*(5.0s)^2

    Hi I am studying for this first physics test and having trouble. heres the equation I am using to find x and I am sure its right but i can't seem to get the answer they do x=8.0m/s*5.0s +.5 * 3.0m/s^2 * (5.0s)^2 = 77.5 I am not getting the 77.5 8 *5 = 40 3.0 x 5.0 = 15 15 *...

How Many Blades of Grass Are on a Quarter Acre of Land?

Ok here's the question and what I have solved so far Grass grows densely everywhere on a 1/4 acre plot of land. What is the order of magnitude of the number of blades of grass? Explain your reasoning. Note that 1 acre = 43560 ft^2. Ok. 43560/4 to get the 1/4 acre = 10890 ft^2 Now I...
