Capacitance & Inductance in Diff. Dielectric Mediums
This is great! I was just looking at the wrong areas! These sites really didn't show up on the first few pages of google because of the formulas not being indexed maybe due to the fact that the content are in a image format and not text!- roTTer

Capacitance & Inductance in Diff. Dielectric Mediums
Hello! How do I calculate the capacitance of a twisted wire pair in 3D? The pair of wire would have two different dielectric(air and insulation) mediums and hence I am not able to figure out how to calculate it by hand. My plan was to create a 3D Model, mesh it and put it up in...- roTTer

Calculating Connector Impedance & Irregular Wire Char. Impedance
Hi, I am modeling the Unshielded Twisted Pair Wire and I have hit a roadblock there. I have studied the mathematical equations for the twisted wire pair. And they give results with an accuracy of 10%. This is in part due to the fact, that almost all equations assume that both the wires are...- roTTer

Transmission Line Simulation Questions
Thanks! A quick look at the circuit reveals that the new R & L values will be half of the original value and will be arranged according to the image you linked. It has solved the issue! Thank you. I feel foolish of not thinking about it earlier. I have one more doubt about the connector...- roTTer

Transmission Line Simulation Questions
The transceivers works this way: During the recessive stage both the pins are at 2.5V. In the dominant stage, one is pulled at 3.5V while the other is 1.5V. As you mention the glitches are caused due to the crosstalk and propagation delay, I thought about it and googled too, but I can't seem...- roTTer

Transmission Line Simulation Questions
By this you mean: "Let's say the propagation delay of the wire is 5ns/meter, (1.52ns/foot). Because it has to propagate back through the return wire, a delay of 5*2=10ns/m. With the transceivers transition (rise/fall) time being in the range of 60ns to 160ns. Lets assume, total time delay of...- roTTer

Transmission Line Simulation Questions
I am simulating an unshielded twisted wire pair of a communication network, Controller Area Network. Bus Speeds taken into consideration are 250/500/1000/2000 kbps. Depending on the physical dimensions of the wire and insulation dielectric constant, I have computed the R,L,C,G parameters...- roTTer

Physical Layer Simulation of CAN
Hi, I have close to around 5 months to finish this. I have no other commitments, so I can focus on this completely. I am hoping that I'll be able to finish studying the papers/books in 30 days. To answer your second question, I'll be using Saber for simulation purposes. Though getting MATLAB...- roTTer

Physical Layer Simulation of CAN
I would like to simulate the Physical Layer of the Controller Area Network(ISO 11898) to evaluate the performance of the system under varying conditions(Temperature, Twists/turn, Length, Termination type, Unfitting Node Terminations, Interconnections, Splices, Unbalanced Loading etc.) I will be...- roTTer

MPPT systems + Solar Panels major doubts
I'm working in the Power Systems team of CubeSAT. It is concerned with building a small student satellite with dimensions of 10x10cm. Our basic block diagram is as follows Solar panels-> In parallel Shunt Regulator -> Buck Converter->PRU (MAX8934A)->DC-DC Converters->Loads The shunt...- roTTer

Reverse current without reversing voltage?
I am aware of the phase shift using reactances. Choppers are part of the Power electronics subject that we have in our courses. The question that I have is there a chopper designed that can perform in the I and II quadrant? I'll post the image of the I and IV quadrant chopper to clear things...- roTTer

Reverse current without reversing voltage?
I was studying First and Fourth quadrant choppers and that got me thinking. Can the chopper run in the first and second quadrants meaning always Positive voltage across the load and Positive and negative load current. My reasoning makes me think that it is not possible. Any help?- roTTer

Searching for Technical Paper Topic? Get Ideas Here!
I worked on it for a month and a half. The faculty seemed disinterested and I decided on continuing it myself. It didn’t work out, and got totally consumed with my SAE competition. Left it off from there. Will try working on it in the vacation after the SAE and internship gets over.- roTTer
