Help needed regarding proof of definite integral problem
Homework Statement f(x) is a bounded function and integrable on [a,b] . a, b are real constants. We have to prove that i) An = a∫b f(x)cos(nx) dx → 0 when n→∞ ii)Bn = a∫b f(x)sin(nx) dx → 0 when n→∞ Homework Equations Parseval's formula : For uniform convergence of f(x) with its...- rudra

Does the Laplace Teansform of the function exist?
To my understanding, integral means the area under the curve. If fn. tends to infinite at some region, the area should also be infinite under this curve. Please clarify your point.- rudra

Does the Laplace Teansform of the function exist?
While reading Laplace transform in my book, I came across a problem. where it evaluates the laplace transform of f(t)=1/√t => √(π/s) . But is the laplace transform of f(t) really exists? because I thought the function f(t) is not defined at t=0 and it tends to infinite. So How is it...- rudra

Are unstable system really possible?
Ok, I know it sounds ridiculous. But when reading about what unstable system is and stabilty conditions of transfer function, i got confused. If unstable system means infinite o/p for finite i/p. Does not that kind of violate physical laws? How's that even possible? Can anyone give me a...- rudra

How to evaluate stability of a non-causal System?
@rude man, I think your approach gives the proper soln. α should -ve and β by your logic should be positive.- rudra

Undergrad Why is E = hf applicable to electrons with quantized energy?
Okay . You need to clear your fundamentals from your teacher. E=hf. does not give the energy of electron. It gives the energy required / released when electrons change their energy levels. And this energy may be radiated in the form of photons or by heat or any other form. I recommend you to...- rudra

How to determine type of Filter from pole zero plot?
According to me Transfer function will be G(s)= (s2+2ζωn+ωn2)/((s+p1)(s+p2)) I assume from the given plot that ωn < p1 and ωn < p2 Then the bode plot will be as per me like following :From the Bode plot we can see for higher freq magnitude is amplified . So it will be High pass Filter. That's...- rudra

How to evaluate stability of a non-causal System?
For this problem I have taken laplace(one-sided) transform of h(t) which gives me H(s)=1/(s-α). From this I can state that α must be -ve for G(s) to be stable. But my problem is while taking one-sided Laplace Transform the exp(βt)u(-t) part gives 0. So in H(s) according to my calculation, β...- rudra

Is the Nyquist Plot Problem Solvable with a Stable Open Loop Transfer Function?
In my opinion open loop t.f. should have a R.H.S. zero. But I think that's the wrong answer. Because when I searched the answer keys for the problem. Every website or book gives option (c) i.e. G(s) is the impedance of passive network. But none of the book or websites explain the answer neither...- rudra

Is the Nyquist Plot Problem Solvable with a Stable Open Loop Transfer Function?
1. Problem is given in the following link: http://s11.postimage.org/mrns0fu37/Problem.jpg Homework Equations In my opinion open loop transfer function is given stable. So poles on RHS for open loop t.f. will be 0. But nyquist plot rotates (0,0) point by -360 . So thare will be...- rudra
